Volunteer Abroad (scroll down for cultural trip registration information)

1. Determine if you are eligible. Are you:

• 18 years or older
• have completed secondary school
• are able to commit at least one week (7 days) to a project
• have educational, work, volunteer, professional experience that you are willing to share
• are willing to keep an open mind, immerse yourself in a completely different culture and langauge environment, and forget what is normal.

2. Select your program dates

Once you have determined that you are eligible, determine your arrival and departure dates. Our program is flexible and doesn't have fixed arrival dates, but do require a 7 day (one week) stay. Addtional days will be applied based on daily rate.

3. Complete the application form

You can download the paper version and mail it back to us or you can register online. If you choose to register on line, you will be asked to provide additional information before we can process your application.

4. Submit your deposit

We will not process any application unless there is a deposit. We require a depoit of $300.00, which will be subtracted from your program fee. We require a deposit in order to assure a volunteer's commitment before we begin to engage our partners and plan for that volunteers arrival.

5. Submit the required documents

All volunteers are required to submit the following documents after submission of the application form

• Medical clearance letter (BT provides you the letter)
• Proof of emergency evacuation insurance. (in the event of an extreme emergency, we want to be able to bring you to safety; and thefore require that all volunteers provide proof of emergency evacuation insurance
• proof of credentials (this will only pertain to volunteers volunteering at advanced skill levels , i.e: medical doctors, nurses, etc.)
• Volunteers working with children will be required to undergo a background check, which may entail additional costs

6. Purchase your flight and submit itinerary

Volunteers are required to obtain their own flights to Haiti or to Togo. Once you have purchased your flight, you are required to forward your complete itinerary to Beyond Travel, so we may schedule your airport pick-up.

7. Review your assignment, complete payment of your program fee and arrive in country

After completion of your application, we will send you an assignment description as well as a volunteer handbook to help you prepare for your trip. You may review your assignment and handbook and are encouraged to ask as many questions as possible. You will then be required to complete the payment of your program fee no later than 45 days prior to your arrival.

Cultural Exploration Trips

Registering for one of our insightful cultural group trips is even easier. There are no eligibility requirements.

1. Select you trip dates

Our cultural exploration trips have fixed dates. Visit our trip information page to determine the date that works for you.

2. Complete the registration form

You can download the paper version and mail it back to us or you can register online.

3. Submit your deposit

We will not process any application unless there is a deposit. We require a minimum deposit of $300.00, which will be subtracted from your trip fee.

You may review your itinerary carefully, and then you will be required to complete the payment of your trip fee no later than 45 days prior to your arrival.
